Big Square

"Big square" is a composition for a choir of 40 women.

These 40 voices will be written in relation to space and time to generate a score that delves into the perception of music from a spatial, atmospheric and that delves into the perception of the music from a spatial, atmospheric and emotional emotional. The score activates the audience's listening not only from an emotional level, but also from the understanding of the space where the encounter is taking place. I I like to define it as a physical-emotional encounter, (emotional because it continues to work on a plane outside on a plane outside of any code understandable to the intellect and physical because it delves into the creation of a special attention to the space). creation of a special attention to the space).

To carry out this work it is necessary to propose a space from which to begin the work. the work. This space is defined by two concentric squares. In the first one the singers will be placed in the first one and the audience in the second one. This way we will get a place that allows experimentation with the way of writing and receiving the music. the music. These squares, apparently immobile, are capable of generating, through the writing of the score through the writing of the score, directions, confusions, atmospheres, spatial sound effects, delicate musical spatial sound effects, delicate musical encounters, intimacy and openness, short and long distance relationships. long distance relationships. Because the relationship between music (as a woman who sings) and the spectator is a very important element. spectator is a very important element in generating this score.
